Lots of Talent!

The Little Ranter told me to play this YouTube video – “it is sooooooo good”, she told me, “I think Paul would like it” – and that means a lot coming from her… Not only did I PLAY it – I posted it here for everybody to hear!

Here we go, with courtesy of the Little Ranter – Billy Talent, “Fallen Leaves”:

“Fallen Leaves”

In a crooked little town, they were lost and never found
Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves… on the ground

I hitched a ride, until the coast
To leave behind, all of my ghosts
Searching for something, I couldn’t find at home

Can’t get no job, can you spare a dime?
Just one more hit, and I’ll be fine
I swear to God, this’ll be my one last time!

In a crooked little town, they were lost and never found
Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves… on the ground
Run away before you drown, or the streets will beat you down
Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves… on the ground

When it gets dark, in Pigeon Park
Voice in my head, will soon be fed
By the vultures, that circle round the dead!

In a crooked little town, they were lost and never found
Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves… on the ground
Run away before you drown, or the streets will beat you down
Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves… on the ground

I never once thought, I’d ever be caught!
Staring at sidewalks, hiding my track marks!
I left my best friends, or did they just leave me?

In a crooked little town, they were lost and never found
Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves… on the ground
In a crooked little town, they were lost and never found
Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves… on the ground
Run away before you drown, or the streets will beat you down
Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves… on the ground

Run away before you drown!
Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves… on the ground
Run away before you drown!
Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves… on the ground

Hmm – the Little Ranter wanted me to find her the chords to the song… She and her little friends have decided to “start a band”, and THIS SONG is one that they would like to play! I found this VERY brief thing, but it didn’t indicate WHERE to play WHICH chord or anything…

I am not good with instruments, I’m just a singer, but if I HAD a guitar or a piano here, I could probably play the song v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y (there’s no way these kids will be able to play as fast as the original anyways!) and figure it out, it’s all pretty basic, the chords are repeated over and over where the music sounds the same, which is why it seems so very brief written out below – but like I said, I’d need an instrument for that…

Here you go – first I have put in the actual chords used in the song (as far as I knew, anyway), as they are played on both guitar (there are various ways of playing the same chord on a guitar, pick whatever feels best for you) and piano:

Am E C C C C C C C G G Dm F
Am
E
C
G
Dm
F

Thanx to MoonDog at Yahoo! 360 and her husband Jantti we now have the proper chords:
