Eurovision Song Contest 2007 – are you SERIOUS?!?

Living in Europe, you can’t help catching the annual music competition! The take outs here in Sweden go on for weeks on end, and when it’s finally time for the BIG FINALE people are feeling slightly “blahhh” about it…

For those of you not familiar with the whole thing, here is some Eurovision Song Contest info!

This year a VERY strange song made it all the way to the top TWO songs – thank GOODNESS that Ukraine didn’t win, because then the BEST SONG IN EUROPE would have been THIS ONE – “Dancing Lasha Tumbai“!!!

(Make SURE you have a barf bag or a bucket handy before pressing “Play”, this one CAN make you feel a bit queezy!)

Oh yeah – it starts off with a little introduction snippet, since the event took place in Helsinki, Finland this year, there you see two Finnish ICONS – Santa Claus (Joulupukki) and the Moomin troll (Muumipeikko – click link for details), playing a game of chess.

Now, the Ukrainian uhm… SINGER *coughs madly* , Verka Serduchka, sort of reminds me of Dame Edna, but really spaced out! Apparently this MAN is a Ukranian Television personality – but this really is TOO much!!!

Hubby and a friend of his agreed that Eurovision really should be called QUEEROvision!!!

The song that won… I don’t even REMEMBER the song, that’s how much I really payed attention, but THIS stupid song got stuck in my head – ” Sieben, sieben, ai lyu-lyu, eins, zwei, drei…TANZEN!!!”

For your “amusement” – here are the LYRICS:
